Keep sharp objects such as knives, tools, and certain types of decorations out of reach. Dogs can inadvertently cause injuries to themselves by knocking over sharp items or stepping on broken pieces.

If you have a swimming pool, pond, or hot tub, make sure it is properly fenced off to prevent unsupervised access. Not all dogs are good swimmers, and even proficient swimmers can drown if unable to exit the water.
